SYRIAN YOUNG STUDENTS ARE IN THE KITCHEN

Gastronomy and the culinary arts seminar and workshop were lastly organized in order to guide Syrian young beneficiaries, who participated our Turkish language courses, while choosing their career and education path. The seminar and the workshop day was moderated by Çise Gökçe, Research Assistant from the Department of Gastronomy and the Culinary Arts at Istanbul Aydın University. Firstly, the beneficiaries were informed about the field of gastronomy and the culinary arts and career opportunities in this field. Secondly, they had experience of preparing cupcakes professionally in the workshop. During the seminar, young Syrians who want to work in this field learned the working conditions both in Turkey and throughout the world by understanding advantages of being multilingual individuals. They discussed about the common grounds through food culture and afterwards found an opportunity to taste their own cupcakes.
