The partners of the project are International Blue Crescent Relief and Development Foundation - IBC, Turkey, National Institute of Research and Development for Earth Physics - NIEP, Romania, National Institute of Geophysics, Geodesy and Geography - BAS, Bulgaria and Geology and Seismology Institute of Moldavian Academy of Sciences - IGS, Republic of Moldova.
The project officially started to be implemented on 2nd March 2012 and successfully reached its first year. Within the first year of the project, planned actions have been successfully implemented under the efficient and functional partnership that created by the all project partners. ESNET Project has completed one of the most important phase of the project to increase the sector cooperation by setting up the Black Sea Safety Network. In this manner a network agreement between 24 competent institutions in 4 countries was signed and put into action. This activity has the aim and potential to create a platform for long-term cooperation among the stakeholders in the participating countries, in the field of preventing, monitoring and intervention in case of earthquake. Another important development and completion is within the first year of the project by the finalization of the assessing the existing framework in 4 partner countries, in the field of prevention, monitoring and intervention related to the earthquake disaster "Black Sea Seismicity Monitoring and Early Warning Systems Alignment Plan" was drafted and official proceedings for authorities' consultation and feedbacks conducted in four partner countries.
By the very beginning of the second year of the project all the project partners and the stakeholders will come together in Kishinev and will launch the Black Sea Seismic Safety Network Web Portal that can be reached from www.blacksea-esnet.eu.
