YOUNG TURKS & SYRIANS HAVING A CLOSER LOOK ON ISTANBUL


The International Blue Crescent Humanitarian Relief and Development Foundation (IBC), in cooperation with Expertise France within the scope of the QUDRA Program, made the summer trips for Turkish and Syrian youth who are part of Youth Development Center to get to know Istanbul together. The trips, which includes trips, university visits to help with their professional choices and many different cultural activities, aimed to contribute to the academic and social development of all young people in the program. 

More than hundred Turks and Syrians participated trips that include Sunay Akın Toy Museum, Istanbul Bilgi University, Istanbul Technical University Vocational Promotion Event, Istanbul University Vocational Promotion Days, Topkapi Palace Museum, Ataturk Arberetum, Dolmabahce Palace, Istanbul Archeology Museum, Miniaturk Trip, Istanbul Modern Art Museum, Turker Inanoglu Foundation Cinema-Theater Museum and Art Library.

Among these trips, one of the most memorable one for the participants was Sunay Akın, a famous Turkish writer, who met with young people and talked about the impact of toys and games in the aspect of shaping cultural values of society.

On the other hand, during the tour of the vocational promotion days held at the Bilgi University Santral Campus, they experienced the inventions made by the scientists for the first time by observing and touching them on simple platforms in the Physics Department within the electricity production facility and museum, that was established during the foundation of the Republic.

The site where the names of the scientists who are prominent fort he society and graduated from Istanbul Technical University on, was viewed carefully by the beneficiaries.

 

The Atatürk arboretum tour was one of the most fascinating trips for the beneficiaries because of its unique nature and plant species which is unique to the region.

During the Miniaturk Trip, beneficiaries examined Turkey’s historical artifacts and touristic regions. Damascus Station was the one which attracted the beneficiaries most among the others.

During the trip for Turker Inanoglu Foundation of Cinema and Theater Museum, beneficaries learnt about the history of Turkish Cinema and Theatre. In addition to that they had a chance to observe instruments and equipments that are used in both cinema and theatre.

The sacred relics exhibition at Topkapı Palace Museum, again attracted the beneficiaries. Seeing the relics for first time created a joy on their face. 

The Dolmabahçe Palace Museum tour led to a feeling full of emotions especially when visiting the rooms where Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk lived during early republic era, who had won the love and respect of all the world countries. In addition to that, the architectural structure of the palace is also attracted the beneficiaries.
