IBC PROVIDED 35 TONS OF FOOD AID IN YEMEN


International Blue Crescent Humanitarian Relief and Development Foundation (IBC) has implemented 35 tons of food aid within the framework of emergency aid projects that has started since November 2018. IBC, which provides food aid to 1500 families every month, has delivered aid to approximately one hundred thousand Yemeni war victims in a year. Within the framework of emergency assistance projects, one fully equipped ambulance was transported to Yemen from Turkey and a total of 16 water wells project was implemented. With the support of national and international donors, the Foundation is active in Yemen with pharmaceuticals, medical supplies, 4 mobile clinics and regional development projects. IBC aims to increase its food aid over 50 tons in 2020.

With the project that started in November 2018, food packages over 3 tons are delivered to families every month. The needs of the IDP families, who are victims of war, are covered by the International Blue Crescent Relief and Development Foundation within the scope of Yemen Emergency Aid Projects and regular food aid programs.

In addition to food aid projects, IBC implements prominent projects which contain water, sanitation, health services in Yemen. A fully equipped ambulance was allocated to the Emergency Center in Hadramut to provide mobile health checks for war victims who could not receive health care that are living in immigrant camps in the region. The ambulance, which was transported from Turkey to Yemen, has breathing apparatus, vital support unit, in-car cooling system and medicines and all kinds of emergency response to provide high-capacity equipment.

On the other hand, the International Blue Crescent Foundation supports mother and child health centers by supplying the necessary medicines for infants and children under threat of hunger. IBC also aims to make 4 mobile hospitals to be operated in Yemen by April 2020.

In the last one year, the International Blue Crescent Relief and Foundation has also implemented 16 water wells projects which is working with solar energy. The wells, which are going to be fully ready in the first months of 2020, will meet the clean water needs of 2500 families. In addition, preventive medicine, supply of necessary medicine and hygiene materials are among the projects to be carried out in rural areas and camps to prevent epidemic diseases.
