DON'T THROW AWAY, RECYCLE IT…


Educational workshops for children continue under the Community Center Project, funded by the BPRM (United States Population, Refugee and Migration Bureau), implemented by the IOM (International Organization for Migration) in partnership with IBC.

Within the “Recycling Workshop organized in collaboration with the Recycling Association, children both gained awareness and made rhythm instruments with recyclable materials. They performed sound and rhythm exercises with the wastes recycled for a green future.

In the two-day Instrument Workshop, children were trained on instrument design from waste. Before the workshop, instruments designed to make different sounds from metal, glass, plastic and cardboard boxes. Percussion Rhythm Workshop was held with the designed instruments for 3 weeks.

In the workshop, it has been talked about the interaction of nature and human and started the production stage by giving material information. In addition, children's observations of the environment were listened to and solutions were discussed. After the Awareness Workshop, feedback was received from the participants about the recycling and the workshop was completed and the children returned home with new knowledge and skills.
