INTERNATIONAL BLUE CRESCENT (IBC) LAUNCHED A RELIEF CAMPAIGN FOR UIGHUR TURKS DEFECTED TO TURKEY


After atrocities and assimilation campaign of China intensified in 2014 in Xinhian Uighur Autonom region, few of thousands of Uighur defected to neighbouring countries as Kirghizia and Kazakhstan.

Around 40.000 of them fled for security to Turkey where they accommodated with relatives or temporary shelter in Istanbul (Zeytinburnu, K.Çekmece, Bayrampaşa districts), Kayseri, Eskisehir, and Konya.

IBC launched a campaign to provide emergency assistance as food, shelter, and education to 2000 Uighur families living in Istanbul and Kayseri.

In this framework, monthly food packages are distributed to 1000 families and winter clothes sets to 1000 Uighur children between 5-12 years old attending Turkish schools.

The campaign continues and focusing to cover more needs of the families for a longer period.
