Within the scope of the fight against Corona in coordination with the International Blue Crescent Foundation Kilis Community Center, Kilis Governorship and Kilis Municipality; It’s distributed food, hygiene packages and masks made by Community Center members.
The International Blue Crescent Foundation delivered food, hygiene packages and 1000 masks to 300 families in need, including Syrian refugees, through the Kilis Community Center.
In Kilis, which is one of the foundation's working areas, support is provided to the elderly and those with chronic diseases to meet their basic needs due to the Corona epidemic. After the field researches, the International Blue Crescent Teams quickly reached the people who needed urgent help, the elderly and those with chronic diseases, and assesed their needs. After the negotiations and cooperation with Kilis municipality, 200 families, who did not receive help, received their hygiene materials within the scope of combating Korona by The Kilis Community Center, which is supported by international charities such as GIZ, ECHO and SDC.
International Blue Crescent Teams, who go to the addresses in Kilis and deliver the prepared packages, witness the emotional moments of unity and solidarity in the houses they visit.
The International Blue Crescent Foundation Teams reached the village of Çukuroba after having the information that Yıldız Unal, who one of the inhabitants of Çukuroba village and could not receive help, in Kilis. Yıldız Ünal shared his feelings with these sentences: ‘While everyone received aid in the village, I am alone here with my children and I could not get anything. Whoever I asked did not know where the help come from but you came and helped me. Ünal, who is the mother of two children and whose husband is not working, stated that she applied when she learnt about the distribution of the International Blue Crescent Foundation for the victims due to the Corona epidemic and shared the happiness that she has thanks to the aid provided by the International Blue Crescent Teams.
International Blue Crescent Foundation field teams which are working in Kilis also provided assistance to 100 Turkish and Syrian families who needed urgent help, elderly or chronic illnesses and never received support. International Blue Crescent Foundation Teams reached the families through the governorship who are staying at home but have difficulty in meeting their basic needs and provide them both of hygiene packages consisting of disinfectant, mask, gloves, general cleaning materials, personal care products and food parcels consisting flour, bulgur, rice, pasta sugar, oil, jam, instant soup. The distribution will continue throughout Ramadan.
The Kilis Community Center, established by the International Blue Crescent Foundation, is a social center where Syrian and Turkish families in Kilis receive training in different fields such as sewing, embroidery, painting, computer, Turkish courses. Currently, 200 masks are produced in the sewing workshops in the center, accompanied by trainers, and the produced masks are regularly distributed within the framework of lists submitted by the Governorship and Municipality. To date, a total of 1200 masks have been distributed.
