As a direct result of China's brutal pressure against Uyghur Turks living in East Turkistan; Tens of thousands of Uighur Turks fled to Turkey to protect their security.
Since the 1940s, about 300,000 Uighur Turks emigrated to Turkey.
However, there are more than 37.000 Uyghur Turks who fled from China since last two years and settled in the suburbs of Istanbul, Kayseri, Eskişehir and Ankara. They try to live in severe conditions.
During this humanitarian crisis, the International Blue Crescent Relief and Development Foundation, which launched the Emergency Aid Project for Uyghur Turks in January and distributes winter clothing and food packages, aims to continue its activities without interruption during the month of Ramadan.
The International Blue Crescent Foundation has distributed Ramadan food packages to the 1000 families living in Zeytinburnu, Sefaköy and Selimpaşa last week for the Uyghur Turks, who have had difficulties in accessing basic human needs due to lack of work permits. The packages include flour, rice, beans, pasta, lentils, oil, salt, tea and sugar.
International Blue Crescent will continue to be the helping hand for Uyghur Turks by expanding its projects in the coming days.
