The International Blue Crescent Foundation has started to provide information services for access to health services, psychosocial support and legal rights with the cooperation of Penny Appeal and the coordination of the Isa Yusuf Alptekin Foundation to Uyghur Turks, which it has supported since 2019 in order to meet their basic needs.
Uyghur Turks living in Istanbul's Zeytinburnu, Küçükçekmece and Bayrampaşa districts are trying to survive in very difficult conditions. All these services are provided free of charge for Uyghur Turks who face difficulties in accessing health and social rights as well as basic needs.
In the project, which aims to reach 6500 direct beneficiaries, the complaints of the beneficiaries who have been pre-checked at the Isa Yusuf Alptekin Foundation are evaluated and sent to hospitals. For Uyghur Turks who need psychological counseling, support is provided by the psychologist within the Foundation, taking into account the pandemic conditions. In this process, practices aimed at solving traumatic situations, especially for women and children, are effectively carried out by expert psychologists.
In addition to all these, the International Blue Crescent Foundation, which provides support and information services for the protection of legal rights under the principle of equality and confidentiality for Uyghur Turks who do not have any social security, legal consultancy, case follow-up and works on access to justice for vulnerable clients.
International Blue Crescent Relief and Development Foundation (IBC) aims to further expand its operations in coming days for Uyghur Turks who had to come in quite traumatic circumstances to Turkey and the living conditions which are deteriorate due to Covid-19
