The West Black Sea continues to struggle with the flood disaster. In Kastamonu Bozkurt, where the flood-hit the hardest, 70 people lost their lives and hundreds of houses were severely damaged and became uninhabitable.
Power lines also malfunctioned due to heavy rains, collapsed on many roads and landslides occurred. All this caused a serious transportation problem.
Following the needs analysis of the International Blue Crescent Foundation (IBC), which participated in the emergency relief activities under the coordination of AFAD and the Red Crescent, Kastamonu Bozkurt supported the cleaning activities in the center and surrounding villages with the guidance of AFAD. In this context, 50 shovels, 200 pairs of work gloves, 30 wheelbarrows, 150 squeegees, 150 sets of hard cleaning brushes, 300 hats, and 50 pairs of boots were delivered to 750 households and volunteers in İliş Village.
IBC will also distribute emergency support packages consisting of flour, oil, sugar, legumes, tea, salt, and hygienic materials to 500 families in the region in the coming days.
