IBC LAUNCHES #GivingTuesday AFGHANISTAN EMERGENCY WINTER CAMPAIGN WITH NEW GLOBALGIVING PARTNERSHIP

IBC has partnered with the U.S.-based NGO GlobalGiving to launch an emergency winterization fundraising campaign for the most vulnerable Afghans internally displaced in the provinces of Herat, Kunduz, and Kabul ahead of next week’s global charity holiday, #GivingTuesday which will be held on Tuesday, November 30th.

GivingTuesday (#PaylaşmaGünü in Turkish) is a global movement and the world’s biggest day of generosity which was created in 2012. Every year it inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity. GivingTuesday is an opportunity for people around the World to come together to thank, help, give, show kindness, and share what they have with those in need.

IBC’s #GivingTuesday campaign, titled ‘’Food/Winter Packs for 1500 families in Afghanistan,’’ provides donors with four options to donate toward food parcels and winter items packages created for families of up to 6 persons. Each food parcel lasts for one month and includes 5kg rice, 5kg wheat flour, 1.5lt edible oil, 5kg grains, 1kg green tea, 2kg milk powder, and 1kg salt. Meanwhile one winter items package includes two double-sized blankets, 6 coats, 6 sweaters, 6 pairs of socks, 6 pairs of boots, and 6 neck scarves.

The full details of the Project and campaign can be found here.

IBC recently became a partner charity with GlobalGiving which is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit that supports other nonprofits by connecting them to donors and companies. Since 2002 they have helped raise more than $618m from 1,365,361 people who have supported 31,098 projects in 175+ countries. GlobalGiving first responded to IBC’s Emergency Afghanistan Winter Appeal and awarded an emergency grant after a rigorous vetting process in line with their four star rating on Charity Navigator. Donations to this campaign are tax-deductible in the US, or UK taxpayers can give in GBP and claim an extra 25% Gift Aid eligible.
