UYGHUR CHILDREN HAVE A MORE HOPEFUL LOOK AT TO THE FUTURE WITH PSYCHO-EDUCATION ACTIVITIES


IBC provides information services on response basic needs, access to health and legal rights for Uyghur Turks living in Istanbul, and also carries out psychosocial support activities. In this scope; A workshop psycho-education study for children was carried out in the last weeks at Isa Yusuf Alptekin Foundation.

The event, which consisted of three sessions, was aimed to develop coping strategies and strengthen psychological resilience for children's negative feelings, thoughts, and behaviors that deepened with the pandemic period.

Children, who are very willing to participate in activities, gain awareness of providing and protecting subjective well-being; They also developed skills to strengthen communication with their peers.

Children who had a very joyfull time especially in the activities of "I'm regulating my breath" and "I am my own hero"; discovered that there are many things they can do when they are afraid, sad, or angry.

In the activity "I'm Going to the Future"; Children who shared their dreams and goals for the future gained awareness that not losing the joy and hope of life makes people strong and healthy.
