IBC CONTINUED ITS SUPPORT FOR WEST AFRICA, WHICH IS FACING THE BIGGEST FOOD CRISIS OF THE LAST 10 YEARS, DURING RAMADAN

According to current data, 27 million people in the West Africa region are struggling with hunger.

It is stated that grain production in the region, where millions of people struggle to survive due to drought, flood, conflict, and Covid-19, has halved compared to last year and that basic food stocks are about to run out.

As IBC continues to expand its activities in the region, the number of people in urgent need of food in the region, which has worsened with the Russia-Ukraine war, is expected to increase to 38 million by June 2022.

While IBC provides regular food relief to Burkina Faso, Niger, and Chad which are struggling with a serious food crisis, with the support of the Canadian relief organization IDRF during Ramadan, it will accelerate its long-term humanitarian relief operations in line with the needs analysis in the region.
