TAKE A NEW BREATH: ESMA’S STORY

7-year-old Esma has been unable to breathe and sleep comfortably for a long time due to chronic tonsillitis. What upsets her the most is not being able to eat ice cream like her peers… Esma's family moved to Turkey in 2013 to provide a better future for their other four children after the hardships they experienced in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region. While Esma can easily access her basic rights and needs in Turkey, she says she wants to be a math teacher when she grows up. We continue to develop our projects together with World Jewish Relief so that every child can have a healthy and hopeful outlook on the future while providing the necessary support for Esma to not get sick often and to regain her health.
