IBC'S WORK IN AFGHANISTAN CONTINUES WITHOUT SLOWING DOWN

The transformation of lthe regime in Afghanistan reshaped the destiny of its people across social, economic, educational, artistic, and various other spheres.

The rise of the Taliban regime marked a crucial moment, particularly impacting women and girls. Although girls are allowed education up to a certain age, women, both in professional and non-professional roles, face disappearance from business and social spheres.

Life was no longer as easy as it used to be for women and girls who were pushed out of social life and had to live within the rules determined against their will. Regime change not only divided society but also caused an economic crisis. While problems such as unemployment and lack of cash flow emerged, the crowds who lost their jobs began to increase.

IBC, which closely follows the developments in Afghanistan, recently activated the Vocational & Educational Community Center (VECC) in the city of Mazar-i Sharif to find solutions to the problems arising in the country.

The most crucial mission in opening the center was to enable Afghan people to acquire a new profession and provide employment opportunities through the training they would receive here. For this purpose, from tailoring to carpet weaving, from carpentry to reading, training in many areas, from foreign languages to computer training, the center started implementing its activities individually. The movement began to be given in support of IDRF Canada. It was one of the first steps taken, and nearly 100 women began to improve themselves in this profession. In addition to tailoring, carpet weaving training is planned to start very soon in the center.

IBC allows the training it will provide to women and girls at the center. Unemployment brought about by economic conditions unfortunately affected men as much as women negatively. The Foundation, which aims to embrace all segments of society with the training it provides and will provide, plans to implement carpentry training for men very soon. In this way, it is aimed to bring more people into social life, regardless of men and women.

The training sessions conducted over two periods near the Vocational & Educational Community Center are designed to benefit over a hundred individuals directly. Now, more than ever, we rely on the support of our dear donors to extend assistance to those in need across various regions worldwide.
