PRACTICAL SOLUTION TO THE DRINKING WATER PROBLEM IN UKRAINE

Kherson is eager to secure potable water after Kakhovka dam collapse. IBC water tanks is one of the key solutions.

IBC has dedicated and continues to dedicate significant efforts in the field to offer prompt and practical assistance to the Ukrainian people, who have faced continuous bombardment since the onset of the war.

To provide relief effectively, the Foundation took its first step by establishing an office and warehouse in the Gagauz Region. It established an office and warehouse to support Ukrainian refugees in Southern Moldova. In the meantime, IBC expanded its emergency relief efforts to Odesa Olbasty, from Bolhrad to Mykolaiv, and then to Kherson.

The lives of the Ukrainian people drastically changed with the onset of war, leading to challenges in essential needs such as food, health, and shelter. However, the most critical issue arose with the disruption of clean water access following Russian forces' destruction of the Nova Kakhovka hydroelectric dam on February 7. This event compromised the city's water network, posing a significant challenge for the people already facing difficult conditions. Addressing this urgent matter, IBC, in collaboration with its donor Action Medeor, initiated water distribution to the city of Kherson from July 2023 onward.

IBC continues its support to the Ukrainian people together with its donor Action Medeor

Currently, there are seven water tanks, 2 of 10 tons and 5 of 2 tons, in Kherson, where approximately 50 to 60 thousand people live. An average of 16 tons of water is supplied every day of the week except Sundays. Since water tanks are located in different parts of the Kherson region, all city residents have easy access to water.

Water tanks located in different regions of Kherson meet the drinking water needs of city residents.

IBC will always continue its support to intervene in the Ukrainian people's situation. For this, we need the help of our dear donors more than ever.
