GERMAN PRESIDENT FRANK-WALTER STEINMEIER MET WITH THE IBC TEAM IN GAZİANTEP


IBC hosted German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier in Gaziantep Nurdağı within the scope of 23 April National Sovereignty and Children's Day. During the event, which was coordinated by  Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH (GIZ), President Steinmeier saw the support activities for those affected by the earthquake and met with the beneficiaries of the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Project (MHPSS) implemented by the IBC in the region.

On 6 February, President Steinmeier received comprehensive information about the projects developed by IBC in the region following the devastating earthquakes expressed his solidarity, and stated that his support would continue. During the event, IBC team accompanying the Presidential delegation gave information to the German press members about the projects implemented for post-earthquake development.

During the visit, Gaziantep Governor Kemal Çeber and Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Fatma Şahin informed President Steinmeier about Gaziantep's efforts to manage the post-disaster recovery process with determination and the cooperation processes in which non-governmental organizations such as IBC develop pioneering projects.

Within the scope of the visit, the importance of Turkiye-Germany friendship within the framework of these activities was once again emphasized and Steinmeier said: "The joint efforts and spirit of cooperation of Turkiye and Germany once again demonstrate their determination to support the people affected by the earthquake." he said.
