Aware of the importance of women's inclusion in social life and their economic independence, International Blue Crescent Foundation (IBC), together with IDRF Canada and its local partner Al Amal, implemented the Culinary Training for Women Project in Morocco.
Women's inclusion in business life and their ability to stand on their own feet enable them to show much more presence in society. However, unfortunately, women all over the world cannot have equal rights or are waiting for the opportunity to regain these rights. Just like the women living in the El Haouz district of Marrakech... Women living here under socio-economic difficulties and social pressures want to redefine their own destiny; they want to lead their lives without submitting to anyone.
IBC, together with IDRF Canada and its local partner Al Amal, implemented the Culinary Training for Women Project in order to enable women whose right to education is restricted due to various reasons, who are forced to marry at an early age, who are exposed to psychological and physical violence, to determine their destiny with their own hands. With the start of the project, the beneficiaries were involved in an intensive practical training process that will last for 9 months. During this period, while the beneficiaries are professionally prepared for business life; on the other hand, it is planned to increase employment and the presence of female labour force in this way.
Beneficiaries who improve their professional skills are progressing professionally towards becoming the cooks of the future |
The women, who will also take English and French lessons to improve their language skills during the training period, will be well-equipped for business life. The women, who are on their way to becoming the chefs of the future, will have the opportunity to do internships in restaurants and hotels in the Marrakech region with the certificate they will have at the end of the training. The positive effects of the small steps they take towards becoming the heroes of their own lives will continue to inspire other women in the future.
As IBC, we will continue to work for women's inclusion in business life and their economic freedom.
It is planned that the beneficiaries will be equipped to start their business life |
