THOUSANDS OF SMILING FACES IN CHAD!

The ongoing social crisis in Chad brings with it many problems. While the negative picture that emerged strikes a blow to the functioning of the country's mechanism, the people pay the biggest bill with thirst.

Water, which has a critical place for human vital activities, unfortunately continues to be one of the most important problems today. One of the countries experiencing these problems is Chad...

Due to the long-standing regional conflicts, the standard of living of the people is decreasing day by day. Frequent droughts, limited access to social services, low income levels and many other factors have led to thousands of people struggling to survive in the grip of hunger and thirst.

The long-standing political crisis has created a domino effect and triggered economic problems, dragging the people of Chad into a vicious circle that is difficult to get out of. The continuation of the unrest in the country and the problems in the management system, as well as the deactivation of many water systems, leave the people who make their living from agriculture in a difficult situation and deal a major blow to agricultural activities. Deprived of irrigation and clean water sources for agriculture, the population is forced to leave the areas where they live or to obtain drinking water from very distant centers. This interconnected cause-and-effect relationship makes access to food more difficult and exacerbates the existing problem.

IBC, together with IDRF Canada, continues to support the people of Chad

Closely following the developments in Chad, International Blue Crescent Foundation (IBC) rolled up its sleeves to find a solution to the deep water and food problems of the people and with the generous support of IDRF Canada, started water wells in Walia, Toukra, Darkwaye, Gournadia, Beriyana Fallata, Daressalam, Abbalimane, Nagui 01, Nagui 02 and Nagui 03 villages.

Beneficiaries started to benefit from water wells

Working selflessly with IDRF Canada to provide access to clean water to the people of Chad, the Foundation also distributed food packages in Chad, which has one of the highest levels of hunger in the world. IBC continued to distribute food packages during Ramadan and meat during Eid al-Adha with great care this year as it does every year.

The opening of water wells put a smile on the faces of the people

As IBC, we will continue to stand by people in need and work hard to make their lives easier.
