International Blue Crescent(IBC) has established a women support centre for Syrian women who live in Islahiye/Gaziantep in Southern Turkey. IBC runs similar community centers in İstanbul, Kilis, Sanlıurfa and Akçakale.
Women support center defines the roles to meet the Syrian refugee women’s needs , improving their access to contribute to their self-reliance and providing vocational /self development trainings and psychosocial support for integration as well as to improve the resilience of Turkey.Women support center provides to refugee women language and hobby courses, social and cultural activities, productive and safe space.
The opening ceremony organised on 8th August 2016 with the participation of different state local representatives and international NGO s The center will be hosting around 400 Syrian women from the camp in Islahiye and from neighbourhoods in Islahiye
The main scope of the center is to provide basic trainings on Turkish,computer,child care,handcrafts,coulinary and other disciplines and place those women to different sectors for job top contribute to their family budget as well as improve their dignity IBC Islahiye Women Support Center will provide legal and psycosocial support to Syrian women too
