INTERNATIONAL BLUE CRESCENT LAUNCHED A CAMPAIGN FOR THE NEEDS OF EARTHQUAKE VICTIMS IN AFGHANISTAN


After the devastating erathquake Richter scale 7.5 affected mainly Badakshan and Takhar regions of Afghanistan IBC launched a campaign to provide emergency relief for the vicitms. In this framework meetings with local authorities of both regions held and basic needs identified as tents, winter kits, blankets and heaters.

In this framework International Blue Crescent started to respon with delivery and distribution of thousands of blankets in both regions.

Beneficiary villagers are selected from the most affected ones.

IBC campaign continues and it is targeted to provide tens of thousands more blankets and around 3000 heaters depending on the assesment and vulnerabilities in the field.

Since 26 October 2015, there is no effective response to the needs of the victims and winter conditions are creating enormous survival problems for them.
