International Blue Crescent Foundation is intensifying relief works for the solution to hundreds of thousands Syrian refugees’ problems fled to Turkey.
Activities in Turkey
Through a large number of projects performed by IBC Kilis and Sanliurfa branches, considerable contributions were provided to the solution to health, education and sheltering issues of Syrian refugees.
The refugees transferre from Syria in need of long treatment are getting 24 hour service in the hospital with 32 beds built in Kilis by the Foundation with the support of Malteser Germany. Among those who receive treatment, there are children who lost an arm or a leg and people who went into a coma with gunshot wounds and were brought back to life.
Foundation started works to increase the hospital capacity by 20 beds more.
Education and psychosocial support trainings for children between 5-12 years old are going on uninterruptedly in four Children Training Centers built in Kilis for Syrian refugees. The project started in the beginning of 2013 will continue at least a year more. 1200 Syrian children are provided daily nourishment needs in addition to education in these centers.
IBC provides all support to Syrian School where approximately 1350 children get regular education too. This support will continue at least a year
Another activity in Kilis is vocational education for Syrian people. In community center established by the Foundation hundreds of Syrians learn Turkish, get trained for computer, child care, handcraft, etc. Syrian youngsters make peace again with life through the music bands and competitions they make.
Similar activities are performed in Sanliurfa too. Four Children Training Centers are getting started with the support of United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
Besides, blankets, beds and household goods have been distributed to 800 families in Sanliurfa.
Another activity performed in Kilis was the distribution of hygiene kits to 1.000 families.
Activities in Syria
International Blue Crescent Foundation distributed thousands of hygiene kits, baby kits and food packages within last two months in Aleppo, Al Hasakeh and Al Raqqa provinces coordinated by Kilis and Sanliurfa branches and in coordination with Governorships.
A similar activity has been performed in Damascus too. Monthly distribution of hygiene kits to 1.000 families continues regularly.
1.500 families got winter clothes and 1.500 families got heaters in Damascus too.
International Blue Crescent Foundation started the food package distribution in Reef Damascus and some regions of Homs. 1.500 families will benefit from the campaign.
A mobile hospital has been dispatched to Bab al Salaam camp couth of Oncupinar in order to prevent the migration from Syria to Turkey and to provide service to refugees in Syrian territory. Two mobile clinics and a permanent clinic are still in process of dispatching.
The Foundation decided to start different activities for the solution to problems of two camps in Bab al Nour and Shamarin regions.
Finally, International Blue Crescent Foundation will provide humanitarian relief through its new office started in Arbil to Syrian refugees there.
