Based on the findings of country assessments and the regional strategic requirements in Turkey, Romania, Bulgaria and Republic of Moldova International Blue Crescent Relief and Development Foundation - IBC will develop the capacity building curricula for the region under the cooperation of with its cross border project partners.
To this effect IBC and AFAM technical team participated the curricula development initial meeting in Romania, Eforie.
In the meeting definition of the curricula frame work was realized with the comprehensive presentations, technical information and supervision that provided by AFAM Director Assistant Professor Dr.Kubilay KAPTAN on the topics of
* Disaster Training Curriculum Framework
* Disaster Training Curriculum Examples
* Existing structures of Turkey, Moldova, Romania, and Bulgaria, in the view of disaster education
* Existing structures of the Europe in the view of disaster education
* Competencies for a curriculum structures - All team (workshop)
* Models for a curriculum
* Models’ distributions for a comprehensive study
to the participants beside Turkey from Romania National Institute for Earth Physics - NIEP, Red Cross Constanta Branch, Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, Dobrogea of Constanta County, from Bulgaria Bulgarian Academy of Science NIGGG, from Republic of Moldova Moldavian Academy of Science - MAS, Civil Protection Service and Exceptional Situations of MAI.
In the meeting it has been decided to develop a joint curricula to increase the administrative capacity of professionals dealing with earthquakes and tsunami based disasters in the Black Sea Region covered by the countries participating in the network.
The curricula will be developed under the leadership of International Blue Crescent Relief and Development Foundation - IBC with supervision of Istanbul Aydin University Disaster Education Application and Research Centre - AFAM technical team and will be translated into four languages to be provided trainings in Black Sea Region locations in the participating countries to the professionals working in the Emergency Units.
