INTERNATIONAL BLUE CRESCENT PROVIDED HYGIENE PACKAGES TO 1000 INTERNALLY DISPLACED FAMILIES IN SYRIA.START UP KITS AND WINTER CLOTHES DISTRIBUTION CONTINUES


International Blue Crescent(IBC) continues its humanitarian response by helping Internally Displaced Families in Syria.The program mainly focuses on provision of start-up kits,hygiene packages and winter materials as cloths and stoves.

Distirbution of hygiene packages for 1000 families in Damascus,Hama,Homs and Aleppo provinces continues since April 2012.In August 1000 families(4500 people) benefited from hygiene packages distribution all across the country.

Beneficiaries have been selected in cooperation with SARC(Syrian Red Crescent) from the most vulnerable ones who left their homes without taking any belongings and live in school and other state buildings as well as with relatives in the countryside and dont have any means to secure their hygiene needs.

WFP and SARC providing basic food to those families.

As a second activity we targeted the distribution of startup kits to 1000  Internally Displaced Families in Damascus and Hama and Aleppo provinces.

According to IBC Damascus Office  assesment severe needs for winter clothes and stoves noticed in Hama and Homs provinces where harsh winter conditions dominating.International Blue Crescent will give priority to distribution of winter clothes and diesel stoves .The beneficiary number will be depending on funding capacity.
