In solidarity with its donors International Blue Crescent continues its humanitarian response to the earthquake victims in Van, East Anatolia Turkey.
Ermisler and neighbouring villages are the targeted for emergency and rehabilitation activities settlements of International Blue Crescent.
Distribution of thousands of heaters to Ermisler and remote villages around is completed and hygiene packages and food distribution will end in March.
Main focal point of the relief program is the central primary school of Ermsiler where children of seven villages are accomodated. Due to harsh winter conditions children coming very early and leaving back in the afternoon for their villages by walking were suffering because of the heavy winter conditions and snow.
Some of them weraing light shoes were affected very severely and danger of fingers freezings etc were imminent.
IBC in this framework provided winter coats and boots to 530 children in Ermisler and 55 in karaagac and 45 in Bagdasan villages.
Children now are more safe regarding their health conditions and happy with their new dresses and boots.
Distribution of daily food packages to the students of the school continue.
Because of the earthquake part of the school is destroyed and the classrooms accomodate an average of 40-45 students with double shift. IBC campaigns fort he contruction of five classes prefabricated building to increase the capacity of the school and enable them to down to one shift and the children will be able to come later in the morning and leave earlier in the afternoon
