LEGAL AWARENESS GROUP SESSIONS


International Blue Crescent Relief and Development Foundation -  Legal Outreach Program – Informations & Counselling continues to give the  Syrian refugees information, trying to solve legal problems which they are facing. The project, launched in 2015, implemented by International Blue Crescent Relief and Development Foundation in partnership with United Nations International Organization for Migration.

Within the scope of the Legal Outreach Team Program,  Legal Group Information Sessions were organized in the following locations:

IBC Sultanbeyli community Center, TRC Sultanbeyli Community Center, Mülteciler Foundation, Sultanbeyli Family and Social Policy Ministry Center, Istanbul Aydin University – Turkish learning Center(Tömer), Sancaktepe Family and Social Policy Ministry Center, Fatih Anadolu Imam Hatip Females High School, Istanbul Yuva Foundation Umraniye Community Center and Kucukcekmece Municipality Youth Center.

The titles of the sessions were as follows: Registration for temporary protection, personal rights, family laws, inheritance rights, property rights, children’s rights and early marriage under the Turkish Civil Law. The lease agreement under the Turkish code of obligations, women’s rights and violence against women, the education system and the possibility of scholarships, Turkish Nationality law, working permits and the employment contracts under the Turkish Labor Law, crimes and complaint procedures within the Turkish Criminal Code and finally birth and death certificates under the Turkish laws.

These group information sessions were provided to approximately 2000 Syrian beneficiaries, from all age groups. The sessions were designed to respond to beneficiaries’ legal problems affecting their social lives. This response was delivered in cooperation with public and private institutions.

Most of the beneficiaries were satisfied with the sessions and the information provided.
