International Blue Crescent Relief and Development Foundation facilitated a trip activity to Ataturk Memorial in Ankara.
Aiming at introducing Ataturk Memorial, the resting place of the great leader Mustafa Kemal Ataturk who provided great services to Turkey's public institutions, which thanks to him was modernized to be in the form we see today, to our Syrian beneficiaries and let them share the feelings of the Turks who are in the same place with them. 46 beneficiaries participated in the trip.
Using a coach motor bus, we set off from the IBC community center in Kilis at 22:45. At 07:45 a.m., we reached Tuz Gölü ( Salt Lake). Then we arrived in Ankara where we ate breakfast and visited Ataturk Memorial. At the memorial, we first visited the mausoleum, where we left flowers on behalf of the IBC family, and then we watched the changing of guards' ceremony.
Later, we visited '' Misak-ı Milliye kuleleri'' ( Misak-ı Milliye towers), the Ataturk Memorial Museum, where we saw some of Ataturk's personal belongings, and the library.
In the museum, our beneficiaries saw some of Ataturk's personal belongings, formal and civil clothes, medalyon, cane, sword, fitness machine, documents, photographs and etc…In the outside section of the museum, the beneficiaries also saw Ataturk ceremonial cars and the artillery vehicle, which carried the deceased in the funeral.
After we explained to the beneficiaries that each architectural part of Ataturk Memorial represents holy values to the Turks, we took them for a tour through the mausoleum, which is a symbol of the unitedness of Turks and their undefeated strength.
After we left the memorial, we passed to '' Ataturk Orman'' ( Ataturk Forest), where we drank tea and at the same time the beneficiaries expressed their happiness for taking part in such a great activity. we enjoyed the last minutes of our trip with some folk songs and music. The beneficiaries expressed their deep gratitude to the IBC family for granting them the chance to learn about the history and culture of Turkey.
