CONTINUED EFFORTS WITH HOPE AND DETERMINATION IN GAZA

Letter of Appreciation From UNRWA CG PLazzarini to Muzaffer BACA

Acknowledgement from The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) to IBC

The crisis in Gaza since October 2023 has confronted the world with an unprecedented humanitarian tragedy. IBC has been operating in Gaza at its full capacity, despite the region's challenging conditions for humanitarian relief operations. In addition to meeting the basic needs of people affected by the conflict in the region, such as food and hygiene kits, Mavi Hilal also launched a mental health and psychosocial support project (MHPSS) for the people of Gaza, who face another traumatic event every day.

In this context, the efforts of IBC towards the people of Gaza were highly appreciated by the United Nations (UN). In a letter of appreciation sent to Muzaffer Baca, Vice President of IBC, from Philippe Lazzarini, Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees  (UNRWA), the efforts of IBC to make a difference in humanitarian relief activities in the region were emphasized. "Since October, thanks to the unwavering support of our partners and friends, such as IBC and Development Foundation, my UNRWA colleagues in Gaza have distributed food, clean water and life-saving medical supplies to more than one million children, women and men," Lazzarini said in his letter of thanks. He said.

IBC will continue to stand by the Palestinian people in the coming days with its regular needs analyses in Gaza and humanitarian aid activities implemented in accordance with international standards.
