During my university education I tried to create opportunities to work part-time to gain work experience. I continued my master degree in the field of human resources and could feel better about myself and felt as a worthy human being. Through my studies as an anthropologist and in every point in my life my whole thoughts and focus was on “human understanding”.
With my work experiences as a HR officer I got the chance to work for International Blue Crescent Relief and Development Foundation (IBC) in Cash for Work project funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and jointly implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH starting from August 2018 as a HR field officer.
I started to get a better understanding of the non-governmental organization and their work fields and projects and the displaced conflict affected communities although with no previous knowledge about that. There are over 550000 registered Syrian under temporary protection in Istanbul with 40000 of them in Küçükçekmece district and this number increases to 50000 with the unregistered Syrians. In 2018 this project reached 650 host community and Syrian under temporary protection beneficiaries by providing them a short-term job and many of them could continue in their positions after the project seeing and hearing about all that was a big happiness for me.
With the end of Cash for Work project in January 2019 and the start of Promotion of Economic Prospects for Refugees and Host Community in Turkey Project (PEP) in May 2019 I stared in the position of field coordinator. We aim to reach 75 vulnerable Turkish and provide them with the chance to work and to continue it and 75 SuTP to participate in A1 Turkish course in the first phase and then work after that by providing them work permit.
To be able to reach all people under equal conditions without any prejudice at the International Blue Crescent Relief and Development Foundation (IBC), to see their happiness with the little touches in their lives, I am proud to work by saying “I am a part of this team” as I continue to add on all the information that I learned from my higher-ups every day.
